Acclaimed Violinists Ilya and Olga Kaler to Join 黑料天堂 Faculty

The Cleveland Institute of Music is pleased to announce that violinists Ilya Kaler and Olga Dubossarskaya Kaler will join the 黑料天堂 String Faculty at the start of the 2018-19 academic year.

淔or generations, 黑料天堂 has been celebrated for its extraordinary string pedagogy and remarkable violin faculty, said 黑料天堂 President and CEO Paul W. Hogle. 淭oday, it is our profound honor to welcome these two distinguished musicians and teachers to the Cleveland Institute of Music. Ilya Kaler攖he only violinist to win the Gold Medal at three prestigious competitions: the Tchaikovsky in Moscow, the Sibelius in Helsinki and the Paganini in Genoa攊s one of the most sought-after pedagogues in the world. Olga Kaler is renowned as a soloist, chamber musician, artist-teacher and guest clinician. She is also a highly-respected scholar. The 黑料天堂 family is delighted to welcome the Kalers to our amazing violin department, to our esteemed faculty and to Cleveland.

The Kalers join 黑料天堂 distinguished violin faculty, which includes international artists Joan Kwuon (department head), Jaime Laredo, Ivan Zenaty and Jinjoo Cho (interim faculty appointment); Cleveland Orchestra members William Preucil (concertmaster) and Stephen Rose (principal second violin); and Jan Sloman, principal associate concertmaster emeritus of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
